The FF Plus welcomes the emphasis that the Minister of Trade and Industry, Ebrahim Patel, placed on the necessity of local economic development during a meeting of G20-ministers this week.
The FF Plus, however, wants to point out once again that economic recovery and growth will not be possible in South Africa amid extensive corruption and the government's unsustainable policy of Black Economic Empowerment (BEE).
The way in which the South African government is enforcing Affirmative Action (AA) and BEE comes down to an additional tax and it is nothing but industrial sabotage.
The detrimental effects of Covid-19 on the world's economy, and particularly also the government's irrational lockdown regulations, should serve as a wake-up call to make people realise that local economic development and the establishment of more self-reliant communities are absolutely vital.
