FF Plus to seek answers from Consumer Commission about holiday clubs this coming Friday (12 September)

The FF Plus will be asking the Consumer Protection Commission this forthcoming Friday (12 September) for answers after the commission had earlier this year undertaken to release its long awaited report on holiday clubs this month, Adv. Anton Alberts, the FF Plus’ parliamentary spokesperson on Trade and Industry said.

Adv. Alberts says the Consumer Protection Commission has to report back on its financial and non-financial performance in the first quarter, which will also include its work on holiday clubs.

“I will be enquiring about this issue to provide answers to thousands of holiday club members who have been trapped in unreasonable contracts and poor service delivery for a long time already.

“The FF Plus believes that justice will prevail and that all members of clubs will be entitled to remedies as stipulated by the tribunal. Clubs will in future not be allowed to act contrary to the findings.

“The commission has already indicated that the irregular practices of legal practitioners in opposition to the Consumer Protection Act are being investigated so that the findings could be presented to the consumer tribunal. The FF Plus will also be seeking answers about this issue and will immediately give feedback about the issue,” Adv. Alberts said.
