FF Plus requests investigation into EFF MPL’s conduct

The FF Plus has requested the Human Rights Commission (HRC) to look into a Tweet by the EFF's provincial leader, Collen Sedibe, depicting him holding a semi-automatic rifle.

Sedibe is also a member of the Mpumalanga Legislature.

The post with Sedibe holding a semi-automatic rifle across his shoulder was accompanied by the caption: "By all means necessary or possible we are ready @EFFSouthAfrica."

The message is loud and clear, the EFF is encouraging its members to use violence, also during their planned national shutdown on 20 March.

The FF Plus lodged a complaint about this with the Ethics Committee of the Provincial Legislature and with the HRC.

The EFF's constant calls for violence and even murder, and its incitement of racial hate must no longer be tolerated.

The FF Plus will not allow the incitement of violence against any group in Mpumalanga. The right to freedom of speech comes with a responsibility.

The FF Plus also reported the profile to Twitter and is encouraging other users to do the same.
