The FF Plus has asked the Free State MEC for Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs, Oupa Khoabane, to urgently intervene and find a solution for the ongoing sewage problem in Brandfort.
For months now, the field of the Staatspresident Swart High School in town has been turned into a swamp of raw sewage despite the numerous complaints lodged by residents and the discussions between the FF Plus councillor in the Masilonyana Local Municipality and the Municipality's management. The sewage, which also runs through the premises of the prison in town, is a serious health hazard for residents.
This ongoing problem is not being addressed and, thus, residents have become the victims of the ANC's apathy towards service delivery.
The Department must urgently take action and implement solutions seeing as Masilonyana is still under Section 139 administration by the Free State local government.
The ANC has lost control over the Free State's municipalities because of its policy to deploy cadres in crucial service delivery positions.
The FF Plus fights back against poor service delivery. In 2019, the residents of Masilonyana and the rest of the province will have the opportunity to vote for a party that does not hesitate to hold the ANC accountable for its service delivery failures.
