The FF Plus asked the Ekurhuleni Metro to ensure that the water readings submitted by consumers on the MyCoE app are captured accurately to avoid frustration.
The party supports the use of innovative technology, as long as it is functional. Readings that are not accurately captured result in many problems that could take months to resolve.
When the system functions correctly, it allows consumers to use the self-service water-management system from the comfort of their home by simply submitting their readings on the app.
It also allows for photo submissions. The consumer immediately receives a confirmation notification. This method eliminates interim and estimated readings.
Alternatives are also available for those without smartphones. Residents can visit their nearest client service centre or allow the meter readers appointed by the city to do the readings.
For any assistance with the system, contact the Siyakhokha call centre on 011 999 5102 or send an email to Siyakhokha@ekurhuleni.gov.za.
The FF Plus will perform a daily check to ensure that the app functions correctly.
