The FF Plus will support any legal steps to restore law and order in South Africa so that the country’s people can once again live without fear in safety.
The ANC government is solely responsible for the current culture of lawlessness because it destroyed South Africa’s once competent criminal justice system, and stands idly by while corruption and other crimes are committed with impunity.
As a result, South Africa has become a kind of safe haven for criminals and criminality with international criminals flocking here to evade justice in their own country.
The well-known Afro-American author, poet, dramatist and activist, James Baldwin, once said, “Not everything that is faced can be changed, but nothing can be changed until it is faced.”
The Western Cape, and particularly Cape Town, was subjected to unwarranted violence because taxis that violated the National Land Transport Act were impounded. The country’s laws should be strictly enforced, with no exceptions.
Negotiations between the authorities and taxi organisations should also be conducted within the constraints of the law.
The FF Plus jointly governs, as part of coalitions, in eleven municipalities in the Western Cape and will not sit back with its arms folded while lawlessness is at the order of the day.
The party is, therefore, calling on law enforcers to enforce the country’s laws without fear or prejudice. This culture of lawlessness in the country must be changed.
