EFF march to Kleinfontein nothing but political theatrics

Yesterday’s EFF march to Kleinfontein was nothing but political theatrics riddled with racism to divert attention away from the failures of the coalition in the Tshwane Metro, of which the EFF is part.

The fact that the EFF Member of the Mayoral Committee for Environmental Affairs and regional leader of the EFF in the Tshwane region, Obakeng Ramabodu, was caught on video trying to vandalise an AfriForum sign at Kleinfontein demonstrates that the EFF has no political capital apart from racism, and a dangerously inflammatory and destructive culture.

The EFF, as a governing coalition partner in the Tshwane Metro, deliberately chose to target Kleinfontein, an Afrikaner cultural community, but tolerates over 500 illegal informal settlements in the Metro and approximately 20 illegal developments functioning within the Metro that do not meet formalisation requirements or pay taxes. In addition, the Metro does not provide any services to the Kleinfontein community.

The fact that the EFF leader, Julius Malema, frequently uses the slogan “Kill the Boer, kill the farmer” supports the EFF’s actions yesterday as well as the EFF’s statement that Kleinfontein should be demolished.

South Africa is a diverse country with a plethora of cultural communities, which should be allowed to coexist peacefully.

Afrikaner cultural communities, such as Orania and Kleinfontein, pose no threat to South Africa, on the contrary, they contribute to the country’s growth.

The Freedom Front Plus (VF Plus) strongly condemns the EFF’s contempt for the Afrikaner community in South Africa.
