The FF Plus will as part of a possible coalition government in Gauteng, see to it that the provincial government of Gauteng will take the ANC government on a national level to court to have the e-tolls declared unconstitutional and have it scrapped, adv. Anton Alberts, the FF Plus’ parliamentary member and premier candidate for Gauteng says.
According to Adv. Alberts, the provincial government will in this manner become a strong lever that will protect the interests of Gauteng’s residents against immoral taxes and it will not be necessary to go and find legal fees elsewhere to oppose the ANC government.
“The FF Plus could be a big coalition partner for such an opposition government in Gauteng as polls have shown that the FF Plus has been growing substantially in Gauteng.
“The FF Plus therefore undertakes to, as part of such a coalition government, reduce taxes such as e-tolls and other provincial taxes to the advantage of the residents and businesses in Gauteng. This is only possible if the DA is not in a coalition with the ANC, as they had indicated that they would possibly be entering into.
“That is why we are hoping that the DA will not be betraying the opposition voters by governing with the ANC, but rather with the other parties,” Adv. Alberts says.
