The crime prevention indaba that was held by the Ray Nkonyeni Local Municipality (RNM) this week in Port Shepstone came at just the right time to raise awareness of growing corruption and crime in the Municipality.
Various interested parties, including the RNM Ratepayers' Association, Community Policing Forums (CPFs), security companies, agricultural associations, the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) and the Department of Home Affairs, attended the indaba.
In the FF Plus's view, the indaba provides a spark of hope for RNM residents' safety and progress. The fact that criminal activities are rampant in the Municipality can no longer be denied.
It is now more important than ever for Ray Nkonyeni residents to join hands and take their towns and public spaces back from criminals.
The FF Plus is once again calling on residents to join their local neighbourhood watches and CPFs so as to take responsibility for their own safety as well.
