Parliament’s National Assembly (NA) is scheduled to vote on the controversial BELA Bill, which could have far-reaching consequences for Basic Education in South Africa, tomorrow (Thursday, 26 October).
Together with the attempt to push through expropriation without compensation, BELA is a violation of the 1994 agreement. The FF Plus has never really been impressed with the agreement.
Instead of cultural communities being granted the right to self-determination, so-called balances and counterbalances along with certain concessions were used to make the agreement acceptable.
Public schools, instead of state schools, was one of them. And it is all subject to the whims of a power-obsessed, but incompetent, ANC government.
Therefore, the FF Plus will join other parties and groups in participating in a protest action at 12:00, before the parliamentary session starts at 14:00, at the gates of Parliament where the FF Plus (Dr Wynand Boshoff) will also take the opportunity to speak.

FF Plus supporters are encouraged to voice their objection to this proposed law loud and clear by attending the protest.
Those interested in participating in the protest are requested to gather at the statue of Gen. Louis Botha at 11:30.
