The safety of Tshwane Metro residents and tourists visiting Pretoria is very important to the FF Plus and the party will continue to work on making the city one of the safest cities in the world.
Demonstrating its commitment to the matter, the party and the Tshwane Metro Police Department (TMPD) recently met with the Tshwane Tourism Association to look for ways to make the city and its tourist attractions safer.
The FF Plus councillor Grandi Theunissen, who also serves as the Mayoral Committee Member for Community Safety, gave the assurance that the TMPD is always working to ensure the safety and security of residents, businesspeople and tourists.
One plan is to set up a central control system from where all the Metro’s emergency services will operate.
The FF Plus welcomes the Tourism Association’s safety app initiative which links 400 different security companies. Swift assistance can be obtained by simply pressing a button.
Private security companies are also doing their part to ensure residents’ safety.
The FF Plus is looking forward to attracting more tourists to Pretoria through cooperation with the Tourism Association.
