While the Free State Premier, Mxolisi Dukwana, was busy delivering his exorbitant 2024 State of the Province Address (SOPA) in Qwaqwa, there were people outside begging guests for entry tickets so that they could get a plate of food.
The people of the Free State are desperate for a job and food. But Dukwana did not even mention it in his SOPA.
Shelling out more than R5 million for the event where he delivered his speech was more important to him than finding solutions for the province’s unemployment.
Instead of trying to please a small handful of ANC elites, Dukwana should have walked the streets of Qwaqwa to see what his party’s policy and misguided priorities are doing to the province and its people.
The ANC’s corruption, mismanagement, cadre deployment and unqualified officials lie at the root of the Free State’s decay.
The Premier’s SOPA merely confirmed that it is time to oust the ANC so that the Free State can be restored and rebuilt.
