The FF Plus welcomes the arrest of seven suspects for the attack on Mr André Marais on his farm just outside Potchefstroom earlier this week.
The FF Plus also wants to thank the members of the various different police units who worked together tirelessly to apprehend the perpetrators.
The cooperation between the police station on Khutsong, the trio task team, the narcotics unit and the local detective service goes to show how effective well-coordinated police action is.
The role of the community members who initially provided the police with clues is also of immeasurable value.
This type of coordinated action should form the foundation of the police's rural safety plan. The FF Plus is calling on the police service to continue to build out and strengthen specialist units to prevent rural areas from falling into anarchy and criminality.
