Freedom Front Plus and volunteers offer Tweedy Park residents relief

The Freedom Front Plus (VF Plus), together with approximately 30 volunteers and local organisations in Brakpan, made a significant difference in the lives of Tweedy Park residents on Tuesday.

Around 80 flats in the municipal complex were fumigated to address a serious bedbug infestation. The complex has around 100 elderly residents who have been affected by the plague for months.

With the assistance of The Specialist Pest Control and Cleaning Services, the residences were fumigated and disinfected free of charge. While the flats were being fumigated, Hannelie Nel and her Cleaning Services team carried beds outside, thoroughly disinfected them and even served the elderly residents meals.

The Freedom Front Plus also wishes to thank Leon of Lielies Electrical and Nicoline van Staden and her team for their contributions, donations and snacks, which helped make the residents’ day.

Under normal circumstances such a project would have imposed a heavy financial burden on residents, but thanks to the community’s cooperation, they did not have to pay a cent.

The Freedom Front Plus will keep performing community service to help those in need and, with the help of volunteers and organisations, improve the living conditions of elderly and other vulnerable residents.
