The busy intersection at Olienhout Street and Elgin Road in Kempton Park has finally been fully repaired after sustained pressure from the Freedom Front Plus (VF Plus). Both sets of traffic lights, which had been out of order for a considerable time, as well as the potholes at the intersection have now been fixed.
This follows months of frustration for motorists who had to put up with unsafe road conditions and non-functioning traffic lights.
Over the past few months, the Freedom Front Plus kept engaging with the Ekurhuleni Metro’s Departments of Roads and Energy through formal requests and correspondence demanding repairs.
This outcome proves that cooperation and community involvement can lead to tangible improvements.
