Michael Tiapeng Mogale is a resident of Kameeldrift, entrepreneur and community worker. He played professional football for Pretoria Callies and has operated his own business Lamproom Management and Solutions since 2000, including locomotive-battery maintenance for the mining industry. Michael completed training in public administration, policy management and community development. He serves on Crocodile Community Protection Group’s response team and is involved in safety. After storms and fires, he helps residents rebuild homes, and roads. His style is practical, team-oriented and purposeful, with service to people as his point of departure.
“Every player counts in a team, but each must know their position and do their job. The same applies to Madibeng’s recovery. Access roads and infrastructure must be managed according to a risk register, with a responsible person and deadline for every task. I want to use experience, community development and teamwork to follow repair projects on the ground until residents can see that the work has been properly completed.”
