Maria Molebogeng Hlonipho is the candidate for ward 17 in Mmakau and an experienced health and social-care manager. She holds a master’s degree in nursing, an MBA and diplomas in nursing and nursing administration. Maria has experience in provincial government, budgets, integrated development, monitoring and community mobilisation. Through street audits, she documented and reported damaged water meters, poor roads, inadequate infrastructure, dark streets, crime and unemployment. Maria speaks several languages and believes in service, weekly feedback, fair budgets and decisions taken together with residents.
“The people of ward 17 know where water is lost through damaged meters, which roads are impassable and where drainage and streetlights are lacking. I want to link every problem to a cost, responsible department, deadline and public feedback meeting. Capital projects must be distributed fairly among communities and prioritised according to need, Accurate meters will limit losses and support fair accounts. My commitment is servant leadership: listen in the streets, take the facts to the council, monitor implementation and report honestly to the community every week.
