Lardus Klopper has served as a councillor since 2021 and serves on four portfolio committees. He regularly engages with Eskom and Public Works on electricity problems, roads and other service-delivery issues. With more than twenty years of experience as a qualified sheet-metal worker, maintenance supervisor and project manager, he brings strong technical judgement to the council. His community service includes leadership in AfriForum, the Soetdoring Relief Fund, school governance and youth activities. He is practical, reliable and focused on solutions that are properly planned, safely implemented and sustainably maintained.
“I know from maintenance and project work that a small defect becomes an expensive emergency when preventive maintenance is neglected. Madibeng must therefore compile a verified risk register for infrastructure. Projects must be ranked according to safety risk, number of residents, economic impact and recurring repair costs. Technical teams need clear work orders, materials, responsible supervisors and fixed completion dates. I want to help shift the municipality from constant crisis response to planned maintenance, so that repairs last longer and communities receive more reliable services
