Julie Seton is the VF Plus candidate for Ward 5 in Knysna and has lived in Brenton since 2004. She is an admitted and practising advocate with experience in public-sector administration and municipal government, where she also served as Speaker. She holds a certificate in Municipal Financial Management and has a strong background in social and civic activism. Julie currently serves on the committee of The Accountability Group, a Knysna-based non-profit organisation focused on accountability and good governance.

I believe effective local government requires clear policies, financial responsibility, transparency and accountability. I want to work with residents to address their needs, protect and improve Ward 5, and ensure that the municipality operates within the law and in the interests of the community. I believe there is reason for hope when residents become involved and demand accountability.”
