Jackie du Toit has lived in Ward 9 in Knysna for 14 years and has a good understanding of the needs and challenges of the community. She is a retired South African Police Service officer with a particular interest in law enforcement, crime prevention and community safety. Jackie remains involved in the local Neighbourhood Watch and previously served on the Ward 10 Committee. Her experience managing guest houses has also given her an understanding of the importance of tourism to Knysna.
“I want to be an accessible and accountable voice for the residents of Ward 9. My focus is on improved service delivery, safer neighbourhoods and effective law enforcement. I want to ensure that residents’ concerns are properly followed up and that the municipality is held accountable. Knysna’s unique character and tourism value must also be protected. I want to work with residents towards a safe, well-maintained and well-managed ward that people can be proud of.”
