Hendrik Jordaan is a long-standing resident of Klerksdorp and VF Plus candidate in Matlosana. He worked for the South African Post and Telecommunications Service for 22 years, he qualified as a civil construction planning officer in cost estimation and layout design. He then started a construction company and a scuba and first-aid school. Since 2019, Hendrik has gained experience as a Matlosana and district councillor, whip, caucus leader and MPAC member. He represents the VF Plus at the IEC, in party structures and regards community service as a full-time calling.
Municipal recovery requires more than good intentions; it requires planning, cost estimates and oversight. My experience in civil construction planning, management, the council and MPAC taught me to assess projects, budgets and responsibilities critically. Matlosana must ensure value for money, appoint competent contractors and monitor every project against clear standards. In ward 19, I want to promote fair infrastructure spending, regular feedback and consistent follow-up. Residents must know what is planned, what it costs, who is responsible and when it will be completed. In this way, trust grows through performance.
