Chris Sonnekus is a dedicated community leader and agricultural research specialist with more than 39 years of service to Bela-Bela. He spent approximately four decades at the Department of Agriculture’s Towoomba Research Station, gaining extensive experience in agricultural research, management and financial control. He holds National Diploma, B-Tech and Master’s qualifications in Agricultural Research. He is also a certified drone pilot and accredited polygraph examiner. Active in community safety and water infrastructure, his vision includes improved services, safety and employment opportunities.
