Camagu Maqolo is a full-time Human Resource Management student at South Cape TVET College’s Mossel Bay Campus and a resident of Ward 3 in Mossel Bay. As a young person and student, he experiences first-hand the challenges facing residents and young people, including unemployment, safety, service delivery and a lack of opportunities. Camagu wants to use his perspective as a young resident to contribute to improved service delivery, youth opportunities and accountable local government.
“I want to be an accessible and accountable voice for the residents of Ward 3, with particular attention to the needs of young people and students. My focus is on reliable basic services, safety, clean public spaces and better opportunities for the youth. I want to promote skills development, internships and support for small businesses. I believe in honest and transparent governance and want to keep residents informed about what is happening in Council.”
