Ashley Ritchie is a resident of Skeerpoort with a commitment to rural safety and development. He liserves on the Skeerpoort Security Council and the Community Policing Forum’s Sector 3 council for rural safety. Ashley studied Philosophy and Theology, which shape his critical thinking and ethical approach to service. His career includes international experience, entrepreneurship, agricultural commodity trading, sales and warehouse management. He currently works in the fibre-optic industry and understands the importance of infrastructure. Ashley brings commercial insight, rural knowledge and a calm, cooperative approach to community problems.
“Rural communities cannot stand last in line when roads, water, electricity or communications infrastructure fail. Madibeng’s risk register must cover remote areas and rank projects according to safety, economic and service impact. Access roads affect farming, emergency services, schools and trade; reliable digital connections improve communication and monitoring. My experience in agriculture, management, sales, safety and fibre optics helps me recognise these links. I want to work with residents and technical teams to document recurring problems, assign responsibility and follow solutions through until rural communities experience improvement.”
