USA announcement regarding trade shows that it is keeping a very close eye on ANC government

Trade agreements between South Africa and countries in Africa and elsewhere abroad can be seriously jeopardised by the destructive and rash policy direction of the ANC.

The American government just announced that the duty-free import of certain South African products to America will be reviewed due to concern regarding the controversial amendment bill on copyright.

President Cyril Ramaphosa still has to sign the amendment bill after Parliament adopted it.

According to media reports, America's trade representative announced that South Africa's status of eligibility for preferential trade will be reviewed due to their concern about how the country deals with the protection of intellectual property.

A much greater threat for our existing trade agreements is, however, the proposed amendment to Section 25 of the Constitution to allow for expropriation without compensation.

The FF Plus foresees that it will cause great damage to foreign trade agreements.

The recent announcement and action taken by America should also leave no doubt about the fact that the international community, and America in particular, is keeping a very close eye on South Africa.

America uses these preferential trade programmes to help developing countries to gain easier access into its market by making provision for the duty-free import of certain goods.
