Limpopo's provincial budget is out of touch with the province's economic challenges, particularly seen in the light of the technical recession in which South Africa currently finds itself as well as the wider challenges that the world economy is faced with.
The FF Plus is concerned about the province's economic growth in the context of the country’s poor economic forecast of 0,4%.
The provincial government is failing to pay enough attention to the stimulation of the provincial economy by means of job creation and the promotion of entrepreneurship. Too much money is spent on social grants and low-cost housing that offer absolutely no solution for creating more jobs.
In addition, the FF Plus is also concerned that the funds that were allocated to the various provincial departments in the budget will not be used effectively due to corruption, tender fraud and incompetent officials.
The people of the province have nothing to look forward to, particularly as regards economic relief and other related prospects.
