The FF Plus welcomes the decision taken by the Minister of Police, Fikile Mbalula, to relieve South Africa’s suspended head of Crime Intelligence, Richard Mdluli, of his duties thereby paving the way for a new permanent appointment to be made, says Dr Pieter Groenewald, leader of the FF Plus.
Dr Groenewald says that one of the major reasons why crime is thriving in our country is that there is no proper crime intelligence to expose syndicates in particular and in so doing extensively fight crime.
“I demand that a competent, experienced person be appointed to lead from the front as there is a lot of work to be done.
“It is important that this person will take action to combat crime in the interest of the country and its citizens and not allow him/herself to be misused for political purposes as was often the case in the past,” says Groenewald.
