At the request of Solidarity, the FF Plus submitted a petition to Parliament that posits, among other things, that “radical intervention” is needed at SAA and that Parliament must ensure that the airline is placed under business rescue as soon as possible.
According to the petition, these steps will send a clear message to those that have set SAA up for destruction with their mismanagement and corruption.
The FF Plus agrees with Solidarity as regards the fundamental problems at the airline as well as the proposed solutions to these problems. Too much of tax payers’ money has already been wasted on useless financial bail outs and more money cannot be thrown into that bottomless pit.
The petition was submitted in accordance with the parliamentary rule 347(1), which determines that only a Member of Parliament may submit such a petition and the FF Plus is happy to do so.
The FF Plus will also request a debate on SAA in Parliament so as to bring the matter to a head.
