The FF Plus laments the fire that has broken out at the parliamentary buildings.
The fire and damage to Parliament must not only be seen in light of it being a place where Members of Parliament hold meetings and debates.
The parliamentary complex is also home to a rich history contained in writings, paintings, documents and much more.
Its library is a national treasure trove of South African history. If it were to be destroyed in the fire, it would be a tremendous loss.
The FF Plus will issue a more comprehensive statement once clarity has been obtained with regard to the cause of the fire and the extent of the damage.
