The FF Plus wishes to herewith express its deepest condolences with the next of kin of two police members who died in the line of duty in Pretoria and Khutsong, respectively.
In the one incident, Warrant Officer Jan Esterhuysen was hit by a car while on duty at a roadblock in Khutsong on the West Rand. Apparently, the car attempted to speed through the roadblock and hit Esterhuysen. The seriously injured Esterhuysen was taken to a nearby hospital, but he later succumbed to his injuries. He was the commanding officer of Fochville's visible policing unit and spent 27 years in the service of the SAPS.
In the second incident, Warrant Officer Stoffel Holtzhausen from Pretoria North passed away last Friday night after swerving to avid a pedestrian while on his motorbike. He was underway to a meeting with school children to inform them of how they can ensure their own safety.
The FF Plus honours these two police members who went the extra mile and who did not only do their jobs, but were also involved in community projects.
