The recent passing of the economist Mike Schüssler is a massive loss for South Africa.

His talent to discover unusual statistics that shed light on South Africa's problem of poor economic growth in a unique way was of immeasurable value.
The FF Plus was able to make extensive use of his insights in its debates in Parliament and provincial legislatures to indicate, in a constructive manner, the best way forward for economic development.
Mr Schüssler's economic research also helped the FF Plus in debates on the Transnet pensioner issue whereby the urgency of a settlement was successfully brought to the government's attention.
