The date for the upcoming local government elections was announced today. South Africans can now set their sights on 4 November 2026 as the day to break free from the chains of decay in which the ANC has entangled local governments across the country.
4 November is a Wednesday, just under six months from now. In addition to voting on that day, all South Africans’ most pressing task is to ensure that they are registered to vote.
Eligible voters must also update their details. This can be done at the nearest IEC office or via the IEC’s online platform.
After more than thirty years of ANC maladministration, corruption and a total lack of service delivery, which have driven many towns and cities to the brink of bankruptcy, it is understandable that a sense of apathy has taken root among the public.
Many started believing that it would not be easy, or even possible, to oust the ANC from power, so, they find it hard to feel optimistic about any election.
This has changed, though. It is becoming increasingly clear that the ANC’s support base is shrinking rapidly. Apathy can now give way to a positive attitude, underpinned by the realistic conviction that there is indeed a future after the ANC.
The Freedom Front Plus (VF Plus) will be part of this new future – a future in which service delivery and accountability are once again prioritised in a country where every person has a hopeful future.
All this begins with the local elections, which determine who governs your municipality, cleans your streets, supplies water and electricity, and spends your tax money.
It is vitally important to exercise this democratic right. The Freedom Front Plus encourages voters to carefully consider which party’s values, principles and policies resonate most with them.
4 November marks a new dawn. Seize the opportunity and vote Freedom Front Plus for a better future.
