The Freedom Front Plus Youth welcomes the decision of the NYDA council, to fire Mr. Stephen Ngubeni as Chief Executive Officer with immediate effect.
“The FF Plus Youth is of the opinion that the investigation into the alleged fraud and financial mismanagement should be completed and that he should be held accountable and prosecuted if he is found guilty. The FF Plus Youth has for more than three years been demanding that Ngubeni be fired. It is too late now as there have for some time been serious allegations about Ngubeni’s activities. Ngubeni failed in his duty to fulfil NYDA’s mandate. Under his leadership NYDA has paid hundreds of millions of rand in salaries, bonuses, festivals and other expenses which did not advantage the youth of South Africa at all,” Wouter Wessels, the FF Plus Youth Leader said today.
The FF Plus Youth calls on the NYDA council to appoint a Chief Executive Officer which is serious about youth development.
The FF Plus Youth is however of the opinion that the presidency should attempt to intervene to ensure that this important appointment functions effectively.
