His appointment follows the untimely passing of Theo Coetzee in January.
Burger, born and raised in Hartswater in the Northern Cape, is an environmentalist who has been residing in the Eastern Cape for 29 years.
He serves on the FF Plus's provincial management committee and has been actively involved in various community projects for many years.
He is the co-founder of the organisation Water Warriors in the Nelson Mandela Bay Metro.
Burger is passionate about the environment and has presented many radio programmes and workshops on environmental affairs.
The FF Plus considers his expertise in environmental management to be exceptionally valuable and believes that as Member of the Provincial Legislature, he will make a significant contribution in addressing related problems, such as the water crisis currently faced by the Eastern Cape.
Burger will build on the solid foundation laid by his predecessor and ensure that the ANC in the Eastern Cape is held accountable.
