FF Plus to host international conference on minority rights

A panel of international experts and prominent South African academics will participate in a conference on minority rights which the Freedom Front Plus will host this Thursday in cooperation with the Unrepresented Nations and Peoples Organisation (UNPO) at parliament in Cape Town.

According to Mr. Wessels, the FF Plus’ plan with this conference is to bring the rights of minorities, as seen from a South African perspective, to the attention of the international community again.

He said internationally recognised concepts such as groups, communities and minority rights as well as self-determination are modern political concepts which Europe and the United Nations (UN) often debate.

Speakers of the Khoisan and Brown communities will also be participating in the conference.

The FF Plus has for a number of years been involved with the internationally recognised pursuit of rights of minorities and has held various successful talks and discussions in the European Union Parliament in Strasbourg.

During these talks, Dr. Mulder placed issues such as language, culture as well as affirmative action and farm murders in the international spot light.

This week’s conference will take place on Thursday 21 November 2013 at 10:00 in the Old Assembly Building of parliament in Cape Town.

Interested parties are invited to submit their names, contact details and ID numbers to Ms. Daleen Steyn at daleens@fsl.gov.za at the latest by 15:00 on Tuesday to ensure the proper arrangements have been made for their attendance. She can be contacted at 051 407 1104.
