Yesterday, the FF Plus paid a visit to Mr Duan Slingerland, farm foreman of the farm Sussenvale between Bela-Bela and Modimolle in Limpopo, in hospital after he was assaulted, robbed and injured by four attackers on Saturday.
The perpetrators looted the house and made off with, among other things, a .22 rifle in Slingerland's vehicle. The attackers are still at large.
With the visit, the FF Plus also donated clothes to Mr Slingerland, who lost everything in the robbery.
The FF Plus wants to encourage people who live in rural areas to join their local neighbourhood and farm watches as well as community policing forums and to intensify their own personal security measures.
The FF Plus will continue to put pressure on the government to prioritise the safety of the people living in rural areas.
The FF Plus wishes Mr Slingerland a speedy recovery and hopes that he will be back on his feet in no time.
