Groot getalle uitstaande diensleweringskwessies is aangemeld, maar vorderingsverslae en antwoorde ontbreek.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Selfs die metro se eie prestasie-inligting erken dat die openbare deelname- en petisiesproses die laagste gemiddelde prestasie in vyf jaar aangeteken het \u2013 slegs 30%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Die statistiek is skokkend. Gedurende die 2025\/26-finansi\u00eble jaar is 275 petisies ingedien. Net 26 is opgelos, terwyl 249 steeds uitstaande is en by die agterstand van vorige jare gevoeg is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2019n Petisie is nie bedoel om \u2019n stuk papier te wees wat in \u2019n l\u00eaer verdwyn nie. Dit is een van die belangrikste meganismes waarmee inwoners formeel kan aandring op oplossings vir onopgeloste diensleweringskwessies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Inwoners bestee tyd en moeite om kwessies via wykskomitees, openbare vergaderings en formele petisies aan te meld. Hulle het die reg om te weet wat met daardie sake gebeur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Die VF Plus glo dat die nuwe raad n\u00e1 die plaaslike regeringsverkiesing die bestuur van petisies fundamenteel moet hervorm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Elke petisie moet van indiening tot finalisering opgespoor kan word, met duidelike omkeertye, gereelde terugvoer aan komitees of individue en werklike aanspreeklikheid waar departemente tans eenvoudig nie reageer nie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Openbare deelname kan nie eindig wanneer \u2019n inwoner \u2019n petisie teken nie.
