{"id":88273,"date":"2026-05-19T15:03:04","date_gmt":"2026-05-19T13:03:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.vfplus.org.za\/?p=88273"},"modified":"2026-05-19T15:04:59","modified_gmt":"2026-05-19T13:04:59","slug":"munisipale-nalatigheid-eis-byna-lewens-in-govan-mbeki-ob-gevra-om-in-te-gryp","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vfplus.org.za\/af\/mediaverklarings\/munisipale-nalatigheid-eis-byna-lewens-in-govan-mbeki-ob-gevra-om-in-te-gryp\/","title":{"rendered":"Munisipale nalatigheid eis byna lewens in Govan Mbeki; OB gevra om in te gryp"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Die VF Plus verwelkom die bevestiging dat die kantoor van die openbare beskermer (OB) \u2019n formele klag van die VF Plus teen die Govan Mbeki-plaaslike munisipaliteit ontvang het.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Die klag spruit voort uit die munisipaliteit se volgehoue versuim om op formele waarskuwings en klagtes te reageer wat reeds sedert Augustus 2025 ingedien is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Die betrokke klagte hou verband met onwettige grondgebruik, die verontagsaming van hersoneringsvereistes, onwettige bouwerk, gevaarlike verkeersituasies en die versuim om toepaslike munisipale wetgewing toe te pas by 27 Wolseleystraat (Erf 1645) en Trichardtstraat in Secunda waar \u0149 onderneming \u0149 onwettige parkeerterrein gevestig het.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ten spyte van herhaalde korrespondensie aan die munisipale bestuurder en senior amptenare, is daar geen daadwerklike optrede of wetstoepassing gedoen nie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Die oorspronklike klag van 21 Augustus 2025 het reeds ernstige kommer uitgelig oor moontlike oortredings van Wet op Ruimtelike Beplanning en Grondgebruikbestuur (Spluma), beplanningsverordeninge, bouregulasies en die onwettige gebruik van munisipale grond.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Daarby is gewaarsku oor gevaarlike verkeersomstandighede wat ontstaan het weens sakebedrywighede vanaf \u2019n residensi\u00eble erf.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2019n Opvolgbrief van 9 April 2026 het die risiko\u2019s verder beklemtoon, nadat \u2019n ongeluk op 7 April 2026 presies by die betrokke toegangspunt plaasgevind het.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Herhaalde waarskuwings en versoeke vir ingryping is ge\u00efgnoreer, ten spyte van die munisipaliteit se grondwetlike en administratiewe plig om openbare veiligheid te beskerm en wetgewing af te dwing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Weens hierdie voortgesette versuim is die saak formeel na Mpumalanga se departement van samewerkende regering, menslike nedersettings en tradisionele sake (Coghsta) verwys, met \u2019n versoek om ingryping.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Die OB het intussen bevestig dat die klagte geassesseer sal word om te bepaal of die kantoor \u2019n mandaat het om die aantygings verder te ondersoek.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Vir die VF Plus gaan dit nie bloot oor \u2019n stuk grond of \u2019n enkele voorval nie, maar oor die veiligheid van inwoners, die regte van gemeenskappe en die verantwoordelikheid van \u2019n munisipaliteit om op waarskuwings te reageer voordat mense se lewe in gevaar gestel word.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Geen inwoner behoort blootgestel te word aan risiko\u2019s wat spruit uit administratiewe nalatigheid of bestuursmislukkings nie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Wette en veiligheidsregulasies bestaan om gemeenskappe te beskerm en moet konsekwent en sonder vrees of guns toegepas word.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Die VF Plus sal die saak noukeurig monitor en alle beskikbare prosesse volg om aanspreeklikheid, deursigtigheid en die beskerming van openbare veiligheid te verseker.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Die VF Plus verwelkom die bevestiging dat die kantoor van die openbare beskermer (OB) \u2019n formele klag van die VF Plus teen die Govan Mbeki-plaaslike munisipaliteit ontvang het.
