Sello More, versoek om op te tree oor die skokkende feit dat talle munisipale huise en selfs tehuise vir bejaardes steeds asbesdakke het. Dit is meer as \u2019n dekade nadat die 2014-asbesverwyderingsprojek veronderstel was om hierdie gevaar te verwyder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Die projek is egter verbind met korrupsie, die werk is nooit voltooi nie en dit het uiteindelik gelei tot &#8216;n strafregtelike saak waarvan die hofproses jare reeds voortsleep.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Intussen leef inwoners, insluitende bejaardes en siek mense, steeds met asbes oor hul koppe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hoewel die Vrystaatse regering in November 2025 \u2019n beperkte R20 miljoen-projek aangekondig het om asbes in sekere dele van die provinsie te verwyder, bly dit onduidelik wat in Mangaung self gebeur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Die VF Plus wil weet hoeveel huise in die metro steeds asbes bevat, watter dakke vervang gaan word en watter begroting, indien enige, hiervoor beskikbaar gestel is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Die VF Plus ontvang klagtes uit gebiede soos Heidedal, asook van tehuise vir bejaardes, waar bejaardes en inwoners met bestaande gesondheidsprobleme aan hierdie gevaarlike materiaal blootgestel word.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Die party eis dat die metro volledige deursigtigheid bied oor inspeksies, begroting, beplanning en tydraamwerke.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Daar moet ook duidelik uiteengesit word watter stappe nou geneem gaan word om oorblywende asbesdakke te verwyder en te vervang met veilige, gesondheids- en omgewingsvriendelike boumateriaal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Die gesondheid van inwoners is nie onderhandelbaar nie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dat die ANC-regering meer as elf jaar n\u00e1 \u2019n nasionale asbes-skandaal steeds inwoners in huise laat woon wat hulle aan ernstige long- en gesondheidsrisiko\u2019s blootstel, is \u2019n bewys van \u2019n totale gebrek aan verantwoordbaarheid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Die VF Plus sal aanhou om druk toe te pas totdat daar werklike optrede is.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Die VF Plus het die munisipale bestuurder van die Mangaung-metro, mnr.
