Die GMM voldoen ook steeds nie aan artikel 14(1) en (2) van die Munisipale Eiendomsbelastingwet nie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In teenstelling met bewerings van &#8216;n 5.44%-verlaging in eiendomsbelasting, sal verbruikers weens verhoogde eiendomswaardasies moontlik &#8216;n effektiewe verhoging van 17% ondervind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Intussen is die koers vir onbeboude grond met 3% verhoog.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Inwoners van dorpe soos Secunda, Bethal, Charl Cilliers, Embalenhle, Evander, Kinross, Leandra en Trichardt kan gevolglik skerp verhogings in hul munisipale rekeninge verwag vanaf 1 Julie 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Die VF Plus merk verder met kommer op dat Secunda as &#8216;n finansi\u00eble &#8220;kontantkoei&#8221; behandel word, terwyl baie inwoners in ander dorpe nie hul rekeninge betaal nie, met sommige wat meer as R100 000 skuld en betalingsre\u00eblings ignoreer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Die VF Plus bly daartoe verbind om die GMM aanspreeklik te hou en sal voortgaan om begrotings- en beleidsbesluite teen te staan wat verantwoordelike belastingbetalers onregverdig belas.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Die Govan Mbeki-plaaslike munisipaliteit (GMM) se voortdurende nienakoming van die Munisipale Eiendomsbelastingwet, soos bevestig tydens die jongste raadsvergadering, is onaanvaarbaar. \u0149 Mosie van die VF Plus rakende die GMM se versuim om konsekwent tariefverhogings toe te pas asook misleidende kommunikasie rondom eiendomswaardasies en tariewe, is van die hand gewys.
