In die lig van die munisipaliteit se huidige swak dienslewering kan hierdie verhogings nie geregverdig word nie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>Inwoners ly voortdurend onder:<br>\u2022\u2060 \u2060gereelde krag- en wateronderbrekings;<br>\u2022\u2060 \u2060gebrekkige vullisverwydering en rioolbestuur;<br>\u2022\u2060 \u2060die verval van padinfrastruktuur; en<br>\u2022\u2060 \u2060\u0149 tekort aan deursigtigheid deur die munisipaliteit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>Dit is onaanvaarbaar om tariefverhogings wat die inflasiekoers oorskry, in te stel terwyl voortdurende diensleweringsprobleme nie opgelos word nie. Tariefverhogings behoort hand aan hand te gaan met verbeterde dienslewering en verantwoordbaarheid \u2013 en moenie gebruik word om onbevoegdheid en finansi\u00eble wanbestuur te probeer regstel nie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>Boonop sukkel baie huishoudings alreeds om hulle basiese lewensonkoste te dek. Die voorgestelde verhogings gaan net meer finansi\u00eble druk op inwoners plaas, veral weerlose gemeenskappe en pensionarisse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>Ons versoek die munisipaliteit om:<br>1.\u2060 \u2060die voorgestelde tariefverhogings te heroorweeg en realisties te belyn met die huidige ekonomiese klimaat en vlak van dienslewering;<br>2.\u2060 \u2060\u0149 omvattende en deursigtige oorsig van besteding en inkomste-invordering te doen;<br>3.\u2060 \u2060eers diensleweringsprobleme op te los en openbare vertroue te herstel voordat daar \u0149 verdere
