Die VF Plus in die Modimolle-Mookgophong-plaaslike munisipaliteit (Nylstroom, Naboomspruit, Roedtan, Alma, Vaalwater) het verskeie voorstelle aan die munisipaliteit se uitvoerende raad gedoen om onbillike tariefverhogings aan te spreek.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Besluitneming van die uitvoerende komitee tydens \u0149 sitting op Woensdag (22 Mei 2024) weerspie\u00ebl die erns waarmee omgegaan is met hierdie belangrike sake. Die VF Plus is lid van die komitee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dit sou uiters onverantwoordelik wees om tariefverhogings sonder deeglike navorsing en ontleding van die ekonomiese stand van die munisipaliteit daar te stel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Daarom het die VF Plus-koukus n\u00e1 deeglike ontleding en beraadslaging oor die aanpassing van tariewe die volgende voorstelle aan die uitvoerende komitee voorgel\u00ea:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  1. Dat landbou se grondbelastingstarief verlaag word met 13% nadat dit verlede jaar as gevolg van \u2019n munisipale administratiewe fout met 47% gestyg het.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Dat die afslag van 30% op landboubelasting vir munisipale dienste, wat deel is van die tarief maar nie gelewer word nie, onveranderd bly en dat die afslag nie gestaak word nie.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Dat die bewoording in die munisipaliteit se beleid oor landboutariewe aangepas word in lyn met die bepaling in die Munisipale Finansi\u00eble Bestuurswet (MFMA) en dat \u0149 belastingkoers op landbougrond tot \u2019n maksimum van 25% van die residensi\u00eble tarief gehef mag word, maar dat die moontlikheid daar is om dit selfs te verminder na 15 \u2013 20%.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Tydens gister se raadsitting Donderdag (30 Mei) is al drie voorstelle so aanvaar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \u0149 Voorstel dat die tariewe vir basiese dienste (water, riool, eiendomsbelasting en vullisverwydering) met 4,9% verhoog moet word, is ook aanvaar. Die VF Plus het voorgestel dat \u0149 0% tariefverhoging ingestel word, maar die voorstel is nie in die raad ondersteun nie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Die party is van mening dat die munisipaliteit daarop moet fokus om sy inkomste-vangnet met 5% te verbreed, eerder as om te verwag dat \u2019n klein persentasie belastingbetalers 5% m\u00e9\u00e9r moet betaal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Die VF Plus besef dat die munisipaliteit nog groei en dat die bedryfskoste toeneem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Die VF Plus skroom nie om sy invloed in die uitvoerende raad te gebruik ten gunste van belastingbetalers nie.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
