Die ekonomie sal nie herstel kan word terwyl beurtkrag voortduur en daar nie volhoubare en betroubare elektrisiteitsvoorsiening is nie.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Die energiekrisis moet op die kort termyn soos volg aangespreek word:<\/p>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-vertical is-layout-flex wp-container-core-group-is-layout-2c90304e wp-block-group-is-layout-flex\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>a) Bel\u00ea in die opgradering en instandhouding van die elektrisiteitsverspreidingsnetwerk. Dit kan die vorm<\/em> <em>aanneem van samewerking met die privaat sektor.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>b) Wysig die betrokke wetgewing om elektrisiteitsdiefstal (onder meer onwettige koppelings)<\/em> <em>&#8216;n statut\u00eare oortreding te maak en vervolg diegene wat elektrisiteit onwettig gebruik.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em><strong>c) Effektiewe beveiliging van elektrisiteitsinfrastruktuur om sabotasie en kabeldiefstal te voorkom.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>d) Moedig die oorskakeling na hernubare-energiebronne, soos sonpanele, aan deur belastingkortings<\/em> <em>en &#8216;n nil-BTW-koers op panele en ander komponente.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>e) Finaliseer die ontbondeling van Eskom in aparte entiteite verantwoordelik vir<\/em> <em>elektrisiteitsopwekking en -verspreiding.<\/em> <em>Op die medium- tot langer termyn moet Eskom geprivatiseer word en moet \u0149 mededingende energiesektor moontlik gemaak word.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sentrale kragvoorsiening deur gekonsentreerde opwekkingseenhede en \u2019n landwye netwerk moet grootliks deur plaaslike kragvoorsiening en mikronetwerke vervang word. Die oorskakeling na hernubare-energie op groot skaal moet dan groter prioriteit geniet. Addisionele elektrisiteit wat privaat huishoudings en ondernemings opgewek word, moet teen meer mededingende tariewe aangekoop word.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Die oes, berging en verspreiding van hernubare-energie moet beklemtoon word. Onderontwikkelde dele van die land, veral in die Noord- en Wes-Kaap, is goed gele\u00eb om &#8216;n energie-revolusie te bewerkstellig.
