Die VF Plus in Gauteng het die LUR van onderwys in Gauteng, Panyaza Lesufi, veroordeel as onkundig nadat hy vandag in die media aangekondig het dat daar geen plek meer is vir enkelmedium-skole in die provinsie nie. Lesufi het weer na die apartheidskaart gegryp en inwoners van die provinsie gedreig dat sy geduld nie getoets moet word nie.<\/p>\n

Die VF Plus se LPW in Gauteng, mnr. Philip van Staden, het in reaksie op Lesufi se tirade gesê dat Lesufi moet ophou om sy eie politieke agenda op skole af te dwing en hom eerder te bepaal by wat sy werklike doel as LUR van onderwys in Gauteng is.<\/p>\n

“Onderwyskundiges wêreldwyd is dit eens dat moedertaalonderrig bevorderlik tot beter prestasie op skoolvlak is. Die hoë uitvalsyfer en swak prestasie van leerders in Suid-Afrika is juis as gevolg van aan ‘n tekort van moedertaalonderrig.<\/p>\n

"Die LUR se taak is om toesig te hou oor skole, te sorg dat onderwys in die provinsie glad verloop en dat die departement se verpligtinge uitgevoer word.<\/p>\n

“Wat Lesufi egter doen is om skole en ouers te dwing om sy agenda te volg in plaas van om sy werk as LUR te doen.<\/p>\n

“Lesufi moet verstaan dat elke taalgroep in hierdie land die grondwetlike reg het om in sy eie moedertaal onderrig te ontvang en dat enige druk vanaf 'n LUR se kant af om dit in die wiele te ry, ‘n erge skending van hierdie grondwetlike reg is.<\/p>\n

“Hy moet eerder aandag gee aan skole in sy provinsie wat glad nie funksioneer nie en die gevolg is van die ANC-regering wat bitter min skole sedert 1994 opgerig het,” sê Van Staden.<\/p>\n
