Ismail Vadi, versoek om die R28 tussen Westonaria en Sebokeng te besoek om so te verseker dat die ompad wat motoriste nou moet gebruik, veilig gemaak word.<\/p>\n<p>Philip van Staden, VF Plus-LPW in die Gautengse wetgewer,&#xA0;s&#xEA; konstruksiewerk het verlede jaar aan die R28, vanaf die Hillshaven-afrit tot by N1 (Sebokeng-aansluiting), begin. Verkeer word gedwing om &#8216;n 15km-ompad verby Hillshaven te volg waar dit later by die provinsiale pad aansluit.<\/p>\n<p>Hy s&#xEA; sedert konstruksiewerk in Mei verlede jaar aan die pad begin het, is 205 ongelukke aangemeld. Tien mense, onder andere &#8216;n vragmotorbestuurder, is dood en tientalle motoriste is beseer.<\/p>\n<p>&#x201C;Di&#xE9; ompad dra geweldig swaar verkeer en dit is veral die skerp draai naby die Hillshaven-ingang wat groot probleme veroorsaak. Verskeie motors en vragmotors verloor beheer om die draai en stort na benede. Daar is geen veiligheidsreling, beligting of padtekens nie.<\/p>\n<p>&#xA0;&#x201C;Die LUR moet dringend sorg dat spoedwalle by die draai aangebring word, dat die laning ligte herstel word en dat verkeersowerhede die pad gereeld patrolleer om te sorg dat jaagduiwels vervolg word.<\/p>\n<p>&#x201C;Die VF Plus kan nie staan en toekyk hoe mense verongeluk terwyl die provinsie met voorsorg di&#xE9; ongeluksyfer kan verminder nie.<\/p>\n<p>&#x201C;Die party sal ook &#8216;n verslag aan die betrokke komitee voorl&#xEA; asook voorstelle indien oor hoe om die pad te beveilig totdat konstruksiewerk aan die R28 voltooi is,&#x201D; s&#xEA; Van Staden.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>FOTO: Philip van Staden, VF Plus-LPW in die Gautengse Wetgewer, is hier saam met Charles Brough, VF Plus-stadsraadslid in die Randwes-munisipaliteit.
