"Die parlementêre komitee vir samewerkende regering en tradisionele sake (Cogta) het gister met ‘n oorsigbesoek aan die Ruth Mompati-distriksmunisipaliteit op aandrang van die VF Plus die rioolaanleg op Vryburg besoek," sê Michal Groenewald, VF Plus-LP en hoofwoordvoerder van samewerkende regering.<\/p>\n

"Die besoek het die haglike toestand waarin plaaslike regering onder ANC-beheer verkeer, opnuut beklemtoon.<\/p>\n

"Daar is gevind dat onverwerkte riool steeds vryelik in die Hartsrivier invloei ondanks verskeie versoeke in die verlede van inwoners vir dringende ingryping.<\/p>\n

"In Junie 2018 is ‘n formele klag by die polisie ingedien teen die voormalige munisipale bestuurder van die Naledi-plaaslike munisipaliteit, wat Stella en Vryburg bedien, vir oortredings van die Nasionale Waterwet. ‘n Hooggeregshofbevel wat deur ‘n siviele geding in 2020 teen die munisipaliteit oor besoedeling verkry is, word skynbaar ook geïgnoreer.<\/p>\n

"Die besoedeling van die water en omgewing weens hierdie wanbestuur is voor die hand liggend."<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n

 <\/p>\n

"Wat hierdie stand van sake des te meer skokkend maak, is die feit dat daar reeds ‘n bedrag van R120 miljoen bestee is om ‘n nuwe rioolaanleg te bou om die besoedeling te bekamp.<\/p>\n

"Tydens die oorsigbesoek is egter afgekom op ‘n onlangs-opgerigte betonstruktuur in die ruigtes buite die dorp wat blykbaar reeds vir die afgelope agttien maande staan en verweer.<\/p>\n

"Dit is net nog ‘n halfgeboude tenderprojek gefinansier deur belastingbetalers. Dit sal waarskynlik nog soveel miljoene rand kos om die gerief in ‘n werkende toestand te kry.<\/p>\n

"Buiten die feit dat die Vryburg-gebied se straat- en padnetwerk sienderoë vergaan, gaan inwoners ook gebuk onder gereelde water- en kragonderbrekings.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

"Die gehalte van kraanwater in die gebied is gereeld onder verdenking weens swak bestuur en ‘n gebrek aan onderhoud van waterinfrastruktuur en rioolwerke."<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n

 <\/p>\n

"Die VF Plus sal die saak verder ondersoek en op sowel nasionale as provinsiale vlak druk toepas om te verseker dat die probleme reggestel word en dat die verantwoordelike persone vir hierdie wanaanwending en besoedeling van skaars hulpbronne, aanspreeklik gehou word.<\/p>\n

"Kiesers moet met die komende plaaslike verkiesing saamstaan en verenig in hul stemme om te verseker dat wanbestuur en korrupsie onder ANC-regering in plaaslike regerings gestuit word," sê Groenewald.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
