Volgens hierdie instruksie is kategorie A reserviste, wat operasionele reserviste was, saamgevoeg met die D-kategorie, wat landelike reserviste was, in kategorie 1,&quot; s&#xEA; dr Pieter Groenewald, VF Plus-leier.<\/p>\n<p>Die aantal reserviste het in di&#xE9; tyd dus afgeneem van 50 463 tot slegs 7 089. Dit dien as bewys dat die polisie se beroep op die gemeenskap om betrokke te raak en die polisie by te staan met polisi&#xEB;ring, vals is.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;Indien die minister en die polisie ernstig was om ondersteuning van die gemeenskap te kry, sou hulle nie van reserviste ontslae geraak het nie, maar sou daar tewens baie meer gebruik gemaak word van reserviste wat juis uit die gemeenskap kom en daarom &#8216;n belangrike bydrae kan lewer om misdaad te bekamp.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;Reserviste is vrywilligers wat sonder vergoeding hul tyd opoffer om die polisie by te staan om misdaad in Suid-Afrika te bekamp.
