Die beslissing van die hooggeregshof in Pretoria dat die Hoërskool Overvaal nie 55 Engelstalige leerlinge hoef in te neem nie is bemoedigend en wys opnuut dat die politieke speletjies van die Gautengse onderwysdepartement net skade bring vir wit en swart ouers en leerlinge, sê adv. Anton Alberts, voorsitter van die VF Plus.<\/p>\n

Adv. Alberts sê die hof met dié uitspraak bevestig dat die Gautengse onderwysdepartement die skolestelsel op só ‘n wyse manipuleer dat rassepolarisasie onafwendbaar word wanneer vol Afrikaanse skole gedwing word om Engelse leerlinge in te neem al kan hulle nie.<\/p>\n

“Die VF Plus het al verskeie kere vasgestel dat daar enersyds nie genoeg skole gebou word in Gauteng om al die tale te akkommodeer nie, asook dat bestaande infrastruktuur nie voldoende gebruik word nie, soos hierdie saak nou uitgewys het.<\/p>\n

Dis is duidelik die hof het bevind dat die Gautengse onderwysdepartement onder Panyaza Lesufi eerder daarin belang stel om politiek te bedryf as om hul grondwetlike pligte na te kom deur seker te maak daar is genoeg geriewe om leerders van alle tale te akkommodeer.<\/p>\n

Hierdie uitspraak is bemoedigend en ek hoop indien dit op appèl geneem word, die appèlhof dieselfde siening sal handhaaf,” sê adv. Alberts.<\/p>\n
