In die lig van die twyfel van Eskom se ouditeure of dié staatsentiteit kan voortgaan as ‘n lopende onderneming, is daar net een pad wat Eskom kan loop om gered te word, en dit is deur privatisering, hetsy volledig of gedeeltelik.<\/p>\n

Eskom erken dat hoë skuldvlakke, finansieringskoste en lae kragverkope sy volhoubaarheid ernstig bedreig. Wat laasgenoemde aanbetref, het die VF Plus tydens die periode van groot beurtkrag-toepassing gewaarsku dat Eskom se versoek dat sy kliente nie sy produk moet gebruik nie, die uiteindelike effek sal hê dat dié entiteit sy kliënte permanent gaan verloor.<\/p>\n

Baie kraggebruikers het intussen alternatiewe kragplanne gemaak en sodoende Eskom se mark laat krimp.<\/p>\n

"Die waarskuwing het egter op dowe ore geval," sê adv. Annton Alberts, VF Plus-parlementêre woordvoerder vir energie<\/p>\n

"Verder is Eskom se onreëlmatige uitgawes van R19,6 miljard feitlik net soveel soos die bedrag wat die tesourie wil invorder op grond van die 1% BTW-verhoging.<\/p>\n

"Dit is des te meer rede vir die regering om nie vir Eskom enige reddingsboei te gooi nie, maar eerder die staatsentiteit toe te laat om privaatbeleggers te soek.<\/p>\n

"Die VF Plus waarsku daarom die regering om nie belastingbetalers se geld te gebruik om hierdie roekelose staatsentiteit verder te help nie.<\/p>\n

"Lesse gaan net geleer word deur die pyn van privatisering en verantwoordelike bestuur," sê Alberts.<\/p>\n
